Personalized Vaginal Hormone Therapy – Compounded in Texas

We’re coming to you from Texas, where we’re compounding something truly exciting: personalized vaginal tablets designed specifically for patients experiencing menopause symptoms.

In this video our own pharmacist, Lumdila, explains about new flexibility for HRT (hormone replacement therapy).

Smarter Formulations for Menopause Care

In this video we are working with two well-established hormones used in local menopause therapy:

  • Estriol (STL) – 0.25% formulation
  • DHEA – 2.5% formulation

With just these two base formulations, we’re able to cover seven different prescription types. That means pharmacies can meet a wide range of prescribing needs without stocking multiple compounded variations.

The result?

✔ Greater efficiency

✔ Less complexity

✔ Faster turnaround

✔ Better patient outcomes

Flexible Estriol Dosing — One Formula, Multiple Strengths

If a patient is prescribed estriol alone, we can use a single STL formulation and precisely adjust the tablet size to deliver the required dose.

We can produce vaginal tablets ranging from:

  • 0.5 mg estriol
  • Up to 2 mg estriol

By simply adjusting the printed tablet size, we achieve accurate dosing without changing the base formula.

This dramatically simplifies workflow inside the pharmacy.

Combination Therapy Made Simple

Many patients benefit from combination therapy using estriol and DHEA. Traditionally, that can mean more complex compounding and preparation time.

With our system, combination therapy becomes straightforward.

Using just two pre-filled syringes, we can layer the formulations together to create customized doses such as:

  • DHEA 5 mg + Estriol 0.5 mg
  • Flexible combinations, for example:
    • 0.75 mg of one hormone
    • 10 mg of another

The layering capability allows pharmacies to respond quickly to individual prescriptions — without the burden of preparing entirely new formulations each time.

What This Means for Pharmacies

This approach delivers significant operational benefits:

  • Covers multiple prescription variations with only two formulations
  • Reduces preparation time
  • Minimizes inventory complexity
  • Supports personalized dosing
  • Enables pharmacies to meet patient needs efficiently

Ultimately, it allows pharmacies to provide individualized hormone replacement therapy (HRT) while improving workflow and saving time.
