Red Dot: Best of the Best — The PharmaPrinter Aurum Takes Design's Highest Honor
Some weeks you remember forever. Days after signing our $14M Series A, our team walked onto the Red Dot stage in Essen, Germany, to accept the Best of the Best award for the PharmaPrinter Aurum — the jury's highest distinction, reserved for the most groundbreaking product designs of the year.
Let's be honest about what that stage looks like. The Red Dot Award: Product Design is where the giants of industrial design collect their trophies — global consumer electronics brands, automotive icons, design houses with decades of heritage. And there we were, a Finnish health technology company that makes pharmaceutical compounding equipment, standing with the big boys on stage. We belonged there, and the trophy agrees.
Why design matters in pharma
It would be easy to think design is a luxury in our industry. It isn't. The PharmaPrinter Aurum lives in real pharmacies, operated by real pharmacy teams under real time pressure. Every design decision — the way the print head is accessed, the clarity of the interface, the cleanability of every surface — directly affects whether a pharmacist can prepare a personalized medicine safely, quickly, and with confidence.
That's the standard the Red Dot jury evaluates: not how a product looks in a showroom, but how thoughtfully it solves the problem it was built for. The Aurum compounds personalized medications up to nine times faster than manual processes, with quality control built into every step. Best of the Best says the way we built it is as strong as what it does.
A week to remember
This award lands in the middle of the most significant week in our company's history. Our $14M Series A, co-led by Sandwater and HealthCap with participation from Tesi and Lifeline Ventures, gives us the resources to scale — expanding our U.S. operations, strengthening our supply chain, and accelerating the product innovation that made the Aurum possible in the first place.
The timing is a coincidence. The connection is not. The same obsession with detail that convinced the Red Dot jury is what convinced our investors — and, more importantly, what convinces the pharmacies in 21 U.S. states and across Europe that compound and dispense thousands of doses with our technology every day.
Credit where it belongs
Awards are collected on a stage, but they're won in the workshop. This one belongs to our product and engineering teams, who have obsessed over the Aurum from print head to pixel, and to our pharmacy partners, whose daily feedback shaped every iteration. Thank you — and congratulations.
We'll put the trophy somewhere visible. Right next to the roadmap, as a reminder of the bar we've set for everything that comes next.
