This is what Giuseppe Fusco, at iGalenici writes about experiences with the CurifyLabs technology:
"Dasatinib is mainly used in the treatment of certain forms of leukemia. It is an inhibitor of the enzyme tyrosine kinase. It acts by blocking proteins that promote the rapid growth of some leukemia cells, thus helping the bone marrow to produce healthy cells. It is marketed in tablet form in dosages of 80 and 140 mg.
When used in pediatric therapeutic protocols, dosages are lower and dilutions with a significant inherent error are required.
Thanks to the pharmaceutical printer CurifyLabs and collaboration with their specialists, we are developing a protocol for the validation of sweetened and flavored dasatinib-based gelatins in different pediatric dosages. Such formulations have the advantage of being dose certain and easy to administer, which is critical in younger patients.
The early results are exciting and encourage us to run down this road!!!"
